Do you stand behind your product?
Yes. If you are unhappy with my pottery upon receiving it, you can return it for a full refund of the price or exchange it for a different piece. You will be responsible for return shipping cost, insurance and safe packing if it is damaged in shipping. If you do want to return it, just contact me within 5 days of receiving it.
How long will it take my order to arrive?
I will ship your order within three days of receiving your confirmed order. I ship priority USPS. I don’t guarantee an exact arrival time due to it being out of my control after it is shipped.
What do I do if my pottery arrives damaged in shipping?
Take photos of the item while still in the box. Photo the exterior of the shipping box and the damage to the item. Contact me through this website and I will have you email the photos to me and contact me within 5 days of receipt of the damaged item. Since all items are individual, an exact replacement will not be possible. You can select from my inventory for a replacement of equal value or I can refund your money.
Do I have to pay shipping?
Shipping to you is free, but return shipping is your responsibility.
Do you ship everywhere?
No. I am currently only shipping to the contiguous United States which does not include Alaska or Hawaii. That could change in the future.
Do you have a retail shop at your studio?
I do not really have a retail shop, but you are welcome to make an appointment to visit and shop. I also will have an occasional open studio event.
Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
A local health food store saves all of their packing materials for me to use. All packing around the pottery is clean and recycled. The shipping box is new though. This is to ensure the box strength has not been compromised by being used previously.
How do you make your pottery?
I have always loved texture in pottery and I feel the way for me to be able to have as many options for that is to hand build all my pottery. I have very few pieces that do not have texture as part of the design. In order for my finished pieces to have a raised texture, I create a carved slab of clay. After carving the design I want into the clay slab, and it has slowly dried, it is bisque fired. It is only fired to the point that it is strong, but will still absorb moisture. This bisque slab is what the fresh clay is pressed onto to so that it will have the raised texture.
How are your prices determined?
Since each piece is individually made there are not uniform measurements for any particular item or style. The time to make and glaze each piece is highly variable. Different patterns require different amounts of time to make and apply the many different glazes to each piece. Typically, the more detailed design, the more time is involved.
How did you come up with your studio name?
Buck, Snort, ’n’ Run Clay Works is more about attitude than anything else. In thinking about what name the pottery would have, I looked at how I fell in love with working with clay and making pottery. I was off and running and didn’t look back after taking my first class. So, the visual of something bucking, snorting, and running came to my mind. I thought it fit me very well.

I no longer take commissions.
What do I need to know about your pottery?
I work with stoneware clay that is fired until it is vitrified. This means that it is water tight and safe for all food use. This is functional pottery that you can use everyday in your kitchen or on your table. It is dishwasher and microwave safe. My pottery is also lead-free and food safe. Do not place it on a flame, such as stove top cooking surface. When placing in dishwasher, take care to place it where it will be secure and safe from
movement of other items.
